Venterra Realty in Houston, TX is seeking a Field Engineering Technician who combines hands-on on-site work with corporate responsibilities. You will report to the Project Engineer and help deploy security, networking, and IoT systems across communities.

The role covers site audits, prototype testing, and technology onboarding for newly acquired properties. A background in electrical systems, low-voltage wiring, and basic network knowledge is required, with travel up to 30%.

Qualifications

• Five years of field experience troubleshooting electrical systems and wiring.
• Proficient with a multi-meter and other electrical measurement tools.
• Intermediate proficiency with computer networks, switches, Wi-Fi, and low-voltage wiring.

Responsibilities

• Surveillance & Access Control: install and service low-voltage systems including cameras and IoT.
• Site Audits & Design: audit locations in Houston, San Antonio, DFW, and Oklahoma City; design layouts.
• Research & Development: install and evaluate prototypes at Venterra communities.
• Company Growth: lead technology onboarding of new acquisitions.
• Certification Opportunities: CPTED, CCNA, EPA 608 and others.
