Job summary

PCL Construction invites applications for a Field Engineer Internship Fall 2026 in Denver, Colorado, with additional involvement at Aspen project sites. The program targets enrolled students pursuing construction-related degrees and offers hands-on experience supporting engineers, project managers, and field staff.

Responsibilities include reading drawings, logging submittals, assisting with surveying, safety and quality audits, and documenting meetings and reports.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled as a full-time student pursuing a degree relevant to the construction industry.
• Desire to pursue a career in the construction industry.
• Available to work in Denver, CO, full-time from May to August.
• Willing to temporarily relocate to project locations.
• Proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
• 18 years of age or older and possess a valid Driver’s License.
• Employment with PCL is contingent upon passing a third party substance abuse test.

• Conduct safety audits and quality audits

• Log submittals, process RFIs and prepare reports
• Assist with surveying and project layout
• Maintain and update field drawings, field equipment and records
• Assist with coordinating subcontractors, vendors and field staff
• Coordinate material deliveries and documentation
• Attend relevant project meetings
• Prepare memos, letters, meeting minutes, contracts, and other forms and documents
• Assist with estimating and soliciting subcontractors and/or suppliers for information and pricing
• Other duties as assigned

Here’s how a Field Engineer Intern for our Denver office contributes to our team:

The salary range for this position is between $20 and $26 per hour, based on experience and qualifications. We anticipate this requisition will be open for a minimum of five days, though it may be open for a longer period of time.
