Job summary

Shimmick Corporation is actively hiring Field Engineer Interns for our Summer 2027 Internship program based in our Pacific Northwest Division. Exact location is to be determined, but opportunities exist throughout the greater Seattle area. Expected start is May or June 2027 with an end date in August or September pending the academic schedules.

Qualifications

Currently enrolled in a university program pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field.
Must have completed at least 1 year of study.

Responsibilities

Performing assignments that require standard techniques, procedures and criteria to carry out engineering tasks.
Preparing engineering related calculations and developing drawings and visual aids.
Assisting with field inspections to evaluate the work performed and materials used.
Assisting with construction administration and documentation of deficiencies and deviations from plans.
Working under supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member.
Researching and compiling project information for reporting, marketing, and funding requests.
Creating and maintaining centralized files for project records (including digital).
Coordinating logistics and meetings for project managers.
Attending and taking minutes for the development team as requested.
Helping in the preparation of reports, including monthly development reports.
Assisting with community outreach duties as needed.
Attending neighborhood, community, and project meetings.
Undertaking tasks as may be assigned by project managers.
Having a clear understanding of the budget and assist in the creation of and adherence to project and development budgets.
