Job summary

SPC Construction Co. is seeking an Intern to apply your academic training on real projects at field locations. You will assist the project manager, project engineer, and on-site staff in applying engineering principles by performing a variety of duties on the job site.

You will gain hands-on experience with field conditions, plan interpretation, project scheduling, and coordination with design changes, while receiving mentorship and the chance to see real impact from your work.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in Engineering, Construction Management or a related program.
• Enrolled at an accredited technical college or university.
• Ability to work at project sites and follow safety protocols.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with evaluation of field conditions and acceptance testing
• Support QA/QC engineering materials testing
• Apply survey knowledge for project layout and checking conformance with plans and specifications
• Review project drawings and coordinate any design changes
• Provide document control assistance for correspondence, submittals, design releases etc.
• Initiate engineering design clarifications
• Perform quantity tracking and productivity analysis for operation efficiency
• Assist with preparing and updating project schedule and interact with scheduling decision processes
• Respond to field for design clarification, and manage subcontractors field operations and verify contract payments
• Provide design assistance to the project engineer for the design of temporary structures using CAD tools
