Job summary

Kiewit invites motivated students to join its Central District internship program, offering hands-on exposure to construction management across heavy civil and transportation projects. This role emphasizes field engineering, planning, and cost control with frequent site exposure and potential relocation depending on project needs.

You will rotate through tasks like scheduling, material procurement, and contract administration while developing practical skills in a real-world construction

Qualifications

• Must be able to travel or relocate as needed.
• Must be able to work full-time during the summer (May–August).
• Pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in civil engineering, construction management or related field.
• Ability to access all points of a construction site in varied environments.

Responsibilities

• Field engineering, operation planning, cost control, project scheduling, quantity tracking, material procurement, contract administration, estimating and supervision of field activities.
• Perform engineering tasks using standard techniques and resolve minor technical issues on site.
• Maintain records on job progress, costs and material usage.
• Plan and schedule job segments and activities.
• Investigate issues and propose solutions.
• Review plans and specifications for material quantities and pricing.
• Coordinate with suppliers to manage material deliveries.
