Job summary

Bechtel in Pecos, Texas is seeking a Field Engineer - Instrumentation and Controls to lead field engineering activities, including work planning, material management, quantity validation, safety and quality control, and turnover coordination on a long-term site assignment.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree and 5–12 years of instrumentation and control experience, strong commissioning knowledge, and flexibility for extended shifts to meet project milestones.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 5–8 years of relevant experience or 9–12 years of relevant work experience.
  • Knowledge of industrial instrumentation, analyzers, control systems, field communications, and instrument installation practices.
  • Familiarity with calibration, loop testing, and commissioning processes.
  • Ability to interpret instrument indexes, loop diagrams, hookup drawings, wiring diagrams, P&IDs, and vendor documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Provide field engineering leadership for work planning and packaging.
  • Coordinate material management, quantity validation, and system turnover.
  • Ensure safety, quality, and compliance with project requirements.
  • Support subcontract coordination and inspection activities.
