Job summary

Bechtel Global Corporation in Pecos, Texas seeks a Field Engineer - Mechanical to lead field engineering activities, material management, and quality control for a major gas-fired power facility project. You will oversee planning, turnover coordination, and subcontract reviews on a long-term site assignment.

The role demands a bachelor’s degree with extensive relevant experience, strong ES&H commitment, and ability to work extended schedules.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 5–8 years of relevant experience, or 9–12 years of relevant work experience.
• Knowledge of rotating equipment, tanks & vessels and centerline equipment preferred.
• Knowledge of piping installation and interface with Mechanical equipment.
• Working knowledge of applicable industry codes and standards.
• Well developed communication skills and problem-solving ability.
• Demonstrated commitment to Environment, Safety and Health (ES&H) and Quality.
• Able to work extended work schedules and night shift as required to support project execution.

Responsibilities

• Prepares construction drawings and sketches as part of Work Planning & Packaging.
• Initiates requisitions and prepares quantity takeoffs for field purchases under Material Management.
• Verifies commodities on quantity tracking systems under Quantities.
• Ensures safety and quality control requirements are followed on site.
• Demonstrates proactive learning and pursues appropriate training opportunities.
• Develops understanding of system scope and drawings for package development.
• Reviews inspection plans and coordinates subcontractor submittals.
