Job summary

CES Consultants is seeking a Junior Field Engineer/Inspector to support a NYCDEP Job Order Contract across Brooklyn, Queens, and Staten Island. The position is full-time for 12 months, with a 40-hour workweek, based out of the New York Office - Staten Island, NY.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 3–5 years of relevant experience in building restoration, rehabilitation, or upgrading.
• Or an Associate's degree with 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Familiarity with NYC DEP/NYCDDC/NYCDOT standards and Microsoft Office 365.

Responsibilities

• Conduct construction management and day-to-day field supervision for BWSO Job Order Contracts (JOCs).
• Provide full-time inspection services across mechanical, structural, HVAC, and electrical trades.
• Participate in scope development, cost negotiation, and job order issuance.
• Attend joint scope, pre-construction, and kick-off meetings.
• Ensure Site-Specific Safety Work Plans are approved and coordinated with DEP EH&S.
• Coordinate with Office Engineer to update submittal logs and review documentation.
• Confirm required permits are obtained before mobilization.
• Act as the primary liaison between general contractors, subcontractors, and facility representatives.
• Monitor construction activities for adherence to specs, quality, and safety standards.
• Conduct technical inspections and verify daily implementation of quality measures.
• Track progress against construction schedule and initiate corrective actions for delays.
• Assist in managing scope modifications and quantity reconciliations.
• Prepare daily field reports, computations, and photographic documentation.
• Conduct substantial and final inspections; issue punch lists and completion memos.
• Collect and review all administrative close-out documents.
• Assist in processing partial and final payments.
• Perform additional project control duties as required.
