Job summary

CECO Environmental is seeking a Field Engineer to lead complex field testing at gas processing plants and refineries. You will apply advanced thermodynamics and fluid mechanics to diagnose issues, interpret results, and provide engineering recommendations to customers and internal teams.

The role requires 3+ years in field service or related work, 2+ years in hydrocarbon environments, and a bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in field service, laboratory analysis, or systems troubleshooting.
• 2+ years in gas processing plants, midstream facilities, or refineries preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to perform rapid mathematical calculations and unit conversions.
• Comfort working outdoors in heavy industrial environments, able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or related field.

Responsibilities

• Independently plan, coordinate, and execute complex field testing projects at customer facilities.
• Evaluate process conditions and determine testing methodologies based on objectives.
• Apply fluid mechanics and thermodynamics to analyze hydrocarbon systems and test accuracy.
• Exercise independent judgment to modify testing strategies and respond to field changes.
• Interpret data trends to identify inefficiencies, risks, and optimization opportunities.
• Develop engineering conclusions and recommendations for operations.
• Serve as technical consultant during customer engagements.
• Translate findings into actionable recommendations for plant leadership.
