Job summary

CECO Environmental, including the Transcend Solutions brand, seeks a Field Engineer to plan, execute, and interpret field testing at gas processing plants, refineries, and other industrial facilities. You will apply thermodynamics and fluid mechanics to diagnose issues and provide actionable engineering recommendations to customers.

The role demands strong autonomy, travel, and a proven ability to translate complex data into practical improvements for plant management and operations teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Eng, Chemical Eng, or related hard science.
• 3+ years in field service, lab analysis, or systems troubleshooting.
• 2+ years direct experience in gas processing/ refineries preferred.
• Able to perform rapid math calculations and unit conversions.

Responsibilities

• Independently plan, coordinate, and execute complex field testing projects at customer facilities with minimal supervision.
• Evaluate process conditions and select testing methodologies based on engineering principles and constraints.
• Apply advanced fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, and process engineering knowledge to analyze hydrocarbon systems.
• Exercise independent judgment in modifying testing strategies and troubleshooting process anomalies.
• Interpret data to identify inefficiencies, contamination sources, and optimization opportunities.
• Develop engineering conclusions and recommendations to support customer decisions.
