Job summary

Ballard Marine Construction seeks a Field Engineer to assist project managers, superintendents and field crews in planning, coordination, scheduling, procurement and documentation for a multi-year hydroelectric dam rehabilitation project in remote North/Central Washington.

The role includes field exposure to temporary structures, concrete work, mechanical/electrical installations, rock anchoring and marine operations. Relocation support is provided for the right candidate.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency with construction and project management software including MS Office, Bluebeam, AutoCAD, HeavyBid, HeavyJob, MS Project or Primavera P6.
  • Ability to read, interpret and apply construction drawings, specifications, contract documents and technical information.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to evaluate options and develop practical solutions.
  • Working knowledge of construction methods, materials, tools, equipment and project sequencing.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with ability to collaborate with project teams, field crews, subcontractors, vendors, clients and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to safety, quality, accountability and continuous improvement

Responsibilities

  • The Field Engineer will work with project managers, superintendents, engineers and field crews to support planning, field coordination, scheduling, procurement, documentation, quality and project controls.
  • Support temporary structures, concrete demolition and reconstruction, mechanical and electrical systems installation, rock anchoring, remote-access work and marine construction operations.
  • Relocation to near project site; substantial field exposure across multiple scopes.
