Job summary

VEIT seeks a Traveling Heavy Civil/Mission Critical Project Engineer/QC or Field Engineer to manage field logistics and keep project managers and contractors aligned with engineering standards and specifications.

You will work with project teams to oversee operations, travel to job sites, and prepare reports for division leaders, while ensuring safety, quality, and timely delivery of project deliverables.

Qualifications

• Experience working with field concepts and coordinating between office and field teams.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Strong written and verbal communication with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of project controls, scheduling, and document management.
• Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Manage field logistics and coordinate with project managers and contractors.
• Prepare and review supplier purchase orders and change orders.
• Understand owner contracts and subcontract documents for billing.
• Maintain accurate quantities for invoicing and communicate variances.
• Lead meetings with clients, owners and project teams.
• Develop and maintain submittals, RFIs, and logs for the lead PM.
• Coordinate safety, site cleanliness, and delivery schedules.
• Assist with estimating tasks including take-offs and bid runs.
