Job summary

Primoris Heavy Civil is hiring a Field Engineer for an Abilene, TX project. You will support field staff on roads and highway construction, ensuring plans and specs are followed and aiding in scheduling and documentation.

The role requires 2-4 years of construction engineering experience, willingness to travel, and strong ability to read drawings and manage submittals. You will supervise subcontractors, coordinate with inspectors, and uphold safety standards on site.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of construction engineering or construction management degree, or equivalent combination of training and experience.
• Must be willing to move/travel to projects.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting construction drawings, specifications, and contracts.
• Ability to assist in the preparation, review, and coordination of project submittals, including obtaining required documents from subcontractors.
• Skilled in assigning and tracking cost codes, verifying subcontractor/supplier billing, and managing project documentation.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with Superintendents and Foremen to follow plans and cost-effective methods.
• Measure work and report quantities for monthly estimates and accounting.
• Maintain accurate daily records of activities, quantities, and instructions.
• Provide technical assistance with scheduling and 3-week look-ahead planning.
• Coordinate material deliveries to prevent delays.
• Obtain local state and federal permits for construction activities.
• Supervise subcontractors and major suppliers.
• Approve timesheets for accuracy and allocation.
• Identify hazards and prepare mitigation plans.
