Job summary

Carex Consulting Group is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to build an AI-native operating system for healthtech, directly engaging with clinicians, billers, and executives. The role combines deep technical work with customer-facing responsibilities and travel.

You will translate complex healthcare workflows into scalable software, own migrations, and collaborate across Product Engineering to ship tangible solutions with a bias toward practical impact.

Qualifications

• Significant healthcare and EHR domain expertise.
• Experience with EHR migrations and legacy systems.
• Ability to work directly with clinicians, billers, and executives.
• Strong production-grade software development skills.

Responsibilities

• Own complex data migrations from legacy EHRs, billing platforms, and other healthcare systems from discovery through production deployment.
• Work directly with behavioral health providers to understand their workflows and pain points.
• Spend 10–15 hours per week interacting directly with customers, including clinicians and executives.
• Translate ambiguous customer problems into clearly scoped, buildable technical solutions.
• Write production software that solves real customer problems, not just prototypes or presentations.
• Build solutions independently and partner with Product Engineering on complex initiatives.
• Navigate messy healthcare data, legacy systems, and integrations.
• Apply healthcare and EHR expertise to determine what should be built.
• Collaborate with Product Engineers on features spanning clinical, operational, billing, and data workflows.
• Bring field learnings back into the roadmap.
