Job Title: Field Engineer

Remote Office Location: VA, TX, NC, FL, TN preferred

Business Function/Department: Energy & Infrastructure Solutions/Field Engineering

Role Description: Provide Technical Advisory Services (TAS) to coordinate installation and commissioning activities for assigned projects, ensuring adherence to schedules and performance criteria.

Role Accountabilities
  1. Commission AC and DC drive systems and control software to meet design performance criteria.
  2. Perform tune-ups of closed-loop regulators for optimal equipment performance.
  3. Troubleshoot and resolve complex control system problems.
  4. Design, configure, and test system software and hardware as assigned.
  5. Gather project requirements from authorized sources.
  6. Provide accurate commissioning status reports.
  7. Lead client witness system acceptance testing when assigned.
  8. Suggest improvements to commissioning procedures and system hardware/software.
  9. Maintain safety qualifications and adhere to safety protocols.
  10. Coach and train client personnel and team members in technical areas.
  11. Plan and execute special projects up to 9 months.
General Employee Accountabilities
  1. Complete tasks diligently and communicate effectively with management.
  2. Proactively suggest improvements and ensure compliance with policies and regulations.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical/mechanical/mechatronics engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 2 years’ experience with commissioning power distribution, power electronics, and rotating machines.
  • Strong client, supplier, and internal relationship skills.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, programming, and simulation tools.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (~75%).
Preferred Qualifications
  • 5+ years’ experience in similar commissioning roles.
  • Experience in metals, material handling, paper industries.
  • Knowledge of TMEIC drive controls and engineering tools.
  • Experience working with international clients and field teams.
