Job summary

Flatiron Construction Corp in Beaumont, CA is seeking an experienced Field Engineer to lead field activities, ensure compliance with engineering standards, codes and contract specs, and coordinate with project teams on schedule and budget.

You will review drawings, manage field layout, collect data, and provide technical input to plans while maintaining safety and quality on-site throughout the project.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• 2+ years of construction engineering, scheduling or design experience.
• Knowledge of cost coding, budget and project financials.
• Knowledge of scheduling processes and industry best practices.
• Strong interpersonal relationship skills and communication ability.
• Knowledge of construction equipment, drawings, specifications and standards.

Responsibilities

• Meet daily with project crews to review production schedule and ensure availability of materials and resources.
• Collect, coordinate and analyze drawings, specs and data to ensure quality and contract compliance.
• Provide technical input for work plans and schedules; identify risk factors affecting budget or schedule.
• Track project performance and document daily activities using approved methods.
• Manage cost coding and cost reporting with finance teams for time, materials and subcontractors.
• Review and approve daily timecards with field supervisors and payroll.
• Ensure quality assurance by reviewing specs and obtaining necessary permits and inspections.
• Plan field layout and ensure utility and line marking before production.
• Conduct Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and participate in safety meetings.
