Job summary

Lane Construction is seeking a Field Engineer for its 2-year Field Engineer Development Program (FEDP). The role starts in Cheshire, CT, with six months supporting the Cost Control Team, and relocation to a project site thereafter to gain hands-on field experience.

The position involves handling both office and field duties, aiding in scheduling, preparing cost/time estimates, performing take-offs, assisting surveys, tracking quantities and costs, identifying design vs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related. Must be willing to relocate.

Responsibilities

• Handles both office and field responsibilities to meet the project requirements, including implementation of scheduled work and tracking data.
• Assists in the scheduling and planning of project activities.
• Prepares cost and time estimates to aid in meeting budget.
• Performs take-offs.
• Assists with survey activities.
• Tracks job quantities and costs during project activities.
• Identifies conflicts between design plans and onsite conditions.
• Coordinates with third party utility providers to ensure all utilities are identified and located prior to work execution.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

After six months, the Field Engineer will relocate to a project site to complete the program and gain hands-on field experience.
