Job summary

Spicer Group in Michigan is seeking an experienced field engineer to support construction administration and inspection on public and private infrastructure projects. This on-site role observes work, interprets plans, and documents daily activities, communicating field conditions to the Project Manager and Construction Manager.

The Field Engineer works independently on complex projects, collaborates in meetings, and coordinates with clients and contractors as a liaison while maintaining safety,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
• Ability to possess and maintain required region-based certifications.
• Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.

Responsibilities

• Observes work in progress to ensure conformance with specifications.
• Examines workmanship of finished installations for conformity to standards.
• Interprets specifications related to materials and workmanship.
• Participates and provides input during project meetings.
• Prepares sketches of constructions installations and incorporates changes into master plans.
• Maintains daily inspection report of construction activities.
• Serves as liaison between client, contractor, and project manager.
• Oversees and directs other construction services technicians as needed.
• Ensures safety and quality per company standards.
