Job summary

Shimmick, a leading civil contractor, seeks an experienced Field Engineer to support the Vista Grande Drainage Basin Improvements Project in Daly City, CA. You will provide technical support to field crews, interpret drawings and contract requirements, and help maintain project accuracy.

You will coordinate with the project team, manage subcontractors, track RFIs and daily reports, and promote safety compliance on site. Proficiency in AutoCAD, Procore, Bluebeam, and MS Office is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field plus 4 years heavy civil experience.
• Experience in heavy civil construction and understanding of construction methods, means, and materials.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety standards.
• Ability to interpret plans, specifications, and technical documents.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to field crews and interpret drawings and specifications.
• Oversee layout, surveying, and grade control for project accuracy.
• Manage subcontractors and interface with inspectors, suppliers.
• Support superintendent day-to-day tasks and track RFIs, daily reports.
• Utilize Procore, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and CMiC for documentation.
