Job summary

Apex Companies, LLC. is hiring a Field Engineer to support infrastructure projects across the New England region, bridging design and construction in the field, with travel within Massachusetts.

The role focuses on verifying construction against plans, maintaining records, coordinating with project teams, and producing as-built drawings using AutoCAD. Local candidates or relocation preferred, with a Monday–Friday schedule and occasional overtime.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Ability to read and interpret engineered drawings, plans and specifications.
• Experience or willingness to learn AutoCAD, Bluebeam and/or similar tools.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying site conditions and travel to project locations as needed.
• EIT certification or working toward licensure preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving history.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a site representative to verify construction aligns with design plans and specifications.
• Maintain detailed notes and measurements for record documentation.
• Coordinate with project managers, in-office engineers, contractors, and subcontractors.
• Review drawings, specifications, and technical documents for constructability and accuracy.
• Monitor project progress and provide field reports.
• Prepare record drawings for as-built infrastructure using AutoCAD.
