Job summary

Apex Companies is seeking a Field Engineer in Massachusetts to bridge design and construction on infrastructure projects, coordinating with project managers, design engineers, and contractors to ensure plans are implemented accurately on site. This is primarily a field role with travel across Massachusetts, possibly some in-office work.

A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and ability to read drawings are required; local candidates or relocation to Massachusetts are preferred, and work may

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Ability to read and interpret engineered drawings, plans, and specs.
• Willingness to perform outdoor fieldwork and travel within MA.
• Experience with AutoCAD/Bluebeam or willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a site representative to verify construction aligns with design plans and specs.
• Maintain notes and measurements for record documentation.
• Coordinate with project managers, in-office engineers, contractors, and subcontractors.
• Review drawings, specs, and technical docs for constructability and accuracy.
• Monitor progress, track quantities, and provide field reports daily/weekly.
• Prepare record drawings for as-built infrastructure (AutoCAD).
• Identify and resolve field issues with the design team.
• Conduct quality control inspections per specs and standards.
