Job summary

Apex Companies is seeking a Field Engineer to support infrastructure projects primarily in Massachusetts. This on-site role bridges design and construction, ensuring plans are accurately implemented, while maintaining quality and schedule.

Local travel within Massachusetts is required, with occasional in-office work possible. The position emphasizes field execution, detailed record-keeping, and collaboration with project managers, designers, contractors, and clients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Ability to read engineered drawings, plans, and specs.
• Experience or willingness to learn AutoCAD/Bluebeam.

Responsibilities

• Verify construction aligns with design plans and specs on-site.
• Maintain detailed notes and measurements for records.
• Coordinate with PMs, in-office engineers, contractors, and subs.
• Review drawings and technical documents for constructability.
• Track progress and prepare field reports daily/weekly.
• Prepare record drawings for as-built infrastructure using AutoCAD.
• Identify and troubleshoot field issues with design team.
• Conduct quality control inspections to ensure standards.
• Assist with cost tracking, scheduling updates, and change orders.
