Job summary

PBSGC Marine Group is seeking an experienced Field Engineer to support projects in the Louisiana region and surrounding states as assigned. The role focuses on engineering, layout, leadership of personnel, and asset management including vessels, barges and equipment.

You will coordinate mobilization, read project plans and specs, and promote safe work practices while maintaining daily reports. A background in civil construction, strong leadership, and willingness to travel are essential.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree preferred but experience in lieu of a degree will be considered.
• Civil construction management experience is required; MS Office proficiency.
• Proficient in setting, transferring and understanding grades.
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical documents including contracts and specifications.
• Experience in scheduling, supervision, quality control, and management of civil construction projects.
• Strong leadership, communication, problem solving and teamwork skills.
• High school diploma and valid driver's license required.
• Consecutive weeks away from home may be required.

Responsibilities

• Manage construction projects, including engineering and layout, and lead personnel; manage assets like vessels, barges, and equipment.
• Coordinate mobilization of crew, equipment and materials.
• Be responsible for assigned assets and ensure adherence to project plans and specs.
• Promote and enforce PBSGC safety culture on site; communicate safety hazards and solutions.
• Produce daily reports and other required written communications.
• Conduct performance evaluations of crew
• Provide leadership in safety culture and support learning/development of team members.
