Job summary

Inventure in Mexia, TX and Dallas/Fort Worth area seeks a hands-on Data Center Operations Engineer to support deployment, commissioning, and ongoing operation of modular data center infrastructure. • Experience coordinating contractors and vendors.
• Ability to work independently with occasional travel and after-hours work.

I'm working with a growing technology infrastructure company looking to hire a hands-on Data Center Operations Engineer to support the deployment, commissioning, and ongoing operation of modular data center infrastructure.

This is a field-based role suited to someone with experience operating and maintaining mission-critical data center environments, managing critical infrastructure, and ensuring high levels of equipment availability and reliability.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the deployment, installation, commissioning, and energization of modular data center infrastructure.
• Manage day-to-day facility operations, equipment performance, and site reliability.
• Troubleshoot issues involving server infrastructure, power distribution, cooling systems, and network connectivity.
• Monitor critical infrastructure and proactively address equipment failures and operational downtime.
• Coordinate contractors, vendors, and third-party service providers across multiple sites.
• Develop preventive maintenance programs, operational procedures, and scalable O&M processes.
• Manage equipment inventories, spare parts, vendor relationships, and maintenance schedules.
• Track site performance, uptime, operational costs, and reliability metrics.

What We're Looking For:

• 3+ years of experience in data center operations, critical facilities, or infrastructure engineering.
• Experience working in colocation, hyperscale, enterprise, or modular data center environments.
• Strong understanding of critical data center infrastructure, including power distribution, electrical systems, HVAC, and cooling.
• Hands-on experience with equipment installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
• Experience coordinating contractors, managing vendors, and overseeing field operations.
• Ability to work independently in a hands-on environment, including occasional travel and commissioning-related after-hours work.

Additional Experience That Would Be Valuable:

• Experience with high-density compute, GPU infrastructure, or server environments.
• Familiarity with UPS systems, generators, switchgear, BMS/DCIM, and industrial controls.
• Experience with modular, containerized, or prefabricated data center deployments.
• Background with data center expansion, new site construction, or commissioning.
• Experience managing infrastructure across multiple facilities.
