Job summary

Overland Corporation is seeking a Field Engineer to support planning, organization, and execution of project engineering and field control tasks. You will interpret drawings for field crews, perform material and quantity calculations, and help prepare work plans and surveys.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Job description

LOCATION: Southern Oklahoma/North Texas

JOB SUMMARY

A Field Engineer plays a significant role in successful planning, organizing, and implementing project engineering and implementing project engineering and project control tasks.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Assist in interpretation of drawings and specifications for field crews and craft supervision.
  • Perform quantity calculations by taking measurements and determining percentage of completed/installed materials and work.
  • Assist in the preparation of work plans and work packages.
  • Assist in field surveying and work layout support including elevation, control points, and compilation of as-build data.
  • Assist in compiling processing and confirming daily labor timesheets.Assist in the preparation of Job Hazard Analysis (JHA’s)
  • Order and schedule material deliveries.
  • Supervise field operations.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction-related field of engineering or equivalent experience and education preferred.
  • At least 2 years of experience in the construction field
  • Must have working knowledge and be able to direct the operations of at least these management systems: scheduling – CPM, unit man-hour performance, material control, estimating and subcontracts.
  • Experience with leadership and management of people, communication (verbal and written), planning and organization.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must work independently and as part of a team.
  • Must be detail oriented and able to prioritize.
  • Previous field operations are preferred.
