Job summary

Randstad Digital Americas is seeking a Field Engineer to maintain and troubleshoot both network and voice communication systems in a hybrid role in Mendota, Illinois. The position is full-time with discretionary bonuses and comprehensive benefits, including medical, dental, vision, and a 401K plan.

Responsibilities include installing, configuring, and maintaining PBX/VoIP systems, integrating voice with network infrastructure, and proactive performance monitoring.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or equivalent in IT or related field.
• Experience maintaining network and voice systems preferred.
• Familiarity with PBX/VoIP and telephony protocols (SIP, H.323, RTP).

Responsibilities

• Identify and resolve network issues with logs and diagnostics.

Job Summary

Responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting both network and voice communication systems. This hybrid role combines the duties of managing network infrastructure with the installation, configuration, and maintenance of voice communication systems. The Field Engineer will utilize company toolsets and diagnostic techniques to ensure optimal performance of both network and voice systems, while collaborating with other IT teams to integrate these systems seamlessly into the company's infrastructure.

This is a full time salaried position with discretionary bonus that includes full benefits (ie medical, dental, vision, 401K, etc)

Responsibilities

• Network Troubleshooting : Identify and resolve network-related issues by analyzing system logs, conducting diagnostic tests, and addressing user-reported problems. Ensure minimal disruption to network services.
• Voice System Maintenance : Install, configure, and maintain voice communication systems (PBX, VoIP) and equipment. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to voice networks and phone systems.
• Use of company Toolsets : Leverage toolsets to gather and analyze data on network and voice system performance. Proactively address issues and optimize system efficiency.
• Integration of Network and Voice Systems : Work closely with IT teams to integrate voice systems with network infrastructure, ensuring seamless communication across platforms.
• Performance Monitoring : Continuously monitor and analyze network and voice system performance to identify potential bottlenecks and ensure optimal uptime.
• Security and Compliance : Ensure network and voice systems adhere to security standards and regulatory requirements. Conduct audits and implement security measures as necessary.
• On-call Responsibility : Participate in an on-call rotation to provide after-hours support for urgent network or voice system issues. Respond promptly to critical incidents and elevate when needed.
• System Documentation : Create accurate documentation of network and voice system configurations, changes, and troubleshooting procedures for future reference.
• User Support : Provide technical support to end-users for both network and voice-related issues. Manage user accounts, permissions, and access control for voice systems.

Competencies (knowledge, Skills, And Abilities)

• Networking Fundamentals : Proficient in networking concepts like TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and subnetting.
• Voice System Expertise : Proficient in configuring and troubleshooting voice communication systems (PBX, VoIP) and telephony protocols (SIP, H.323, RTP).
• System Monitoring : Experience with monitoring tools and network/voice management systems.
• Network & Voice Security : Knowledge of firewalls, VPNs, ACLs, and security protocols. Understanding of security measures for voice systems.
• Hardware Configuration : Ability to configure and troubleshoot routers, switches, IP phones, gateways, and other network/voice hardware.
• Troubleshooting & Problem Solving : Strong problem-solving skills in both network and voice systems. Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently.
• Communication Skills : Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate technical information to clients and team members.
• Adaptability : Willingness to stay updated with new technologies and evolving network and voice environments. Flexibility and adaptability to work in dynamic environments are essential.
• Team Collaboration : Work collaboratively with other IT professionals to ensure smooth integration and performance of network and voice systems.
