Job summary

PACK Power, LLC is seeking an onsite Construction Inspector to monitor multiple project activities at a Crowell, TX site. You will inspect major equipment, ensure compliance with specs, procedures, drawings, and submittals, and mentor craft workers as assigned.

The position involves daily reporting, coordination with QA/QC staff, and maintaining field records. You will support project planning and ensure safety policies are followed on site.

Qualifications

• Associates or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil, Mechanical Engineering or related field preferred.
• Experience in construction field is preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints and technical procedures.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with all company safety policies and procedures.
• Oversee substation construction activities and inspect work quality (excavation, concrete, rebar, grounding, steel, wiring).
• Verify construction aligns with design documents; review inspection reports and resolve non-conformances.
• Maintain logs: material tracking, testing/inspection, concrete, non-conformance.
• Manage submittals, ensuring materials match approved specs and project schedules.
• Perform basic surveying and verify line, grade, and dimensions.
• Document daily progress and address deficiencies promptly.
• Coordinate with client quality staff to meet QA/QC standards.
• Compile operations and maintenance manuals with key contacts and warranties.
• Support punch list inspections and determine calibration status of testing equipment.

Job description

Position is responsible for monitoring multiple project activities, including inspections of major equipment received onsite, compliance with specifications, procedures, drawings, submittals and ensuring inspections and tests are qualified and complete. Employee must develop a thorough understanding of the project scope and schedule as they relate to multiple specific assignment. Train and mentor craft level employees in their respective duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Location & Travel:

Onsite in Crowell, Texas. In addition to your base salary, you’ll receive a daily per diem to assist with living expenses while on assignment. This role includes regular rotational travel home from the job site. A monthly vehicle allowance and fuel card will also be provided.

Our High Voltage Division delivers comprehensive engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) solutions for critical electrical infrastructure across the utility, renewable energy, and industrial markets. Our expertise includes substations, switchyards, and transmission line systems ranging from distribution and medium voltage to extra‑high voltage (EHV).

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with all company safety policies and procedures.


• Oversee daily substation construction activities, inspecting work quality including excavation, concrete, rebar, grounding, steel, wiring, and electrical checks.


• Verify construction aligns with design documents; review inspection reports and resolve non-conformances.


• Maintain key logs: material tracking, testing/inspection, concrete, and non-conformance.


• Manage submittals, ensuring materials match approved specs and project schedules.


• Perform basic surveying and verify line, grade, and dimensions.


• Record and report daily progress, identifying and addressing deficiencies promptly.


• Document approved field changes and maintain red‑line drawings.


• Coordinate closely with client quality staff to meet QA/QC standards.


• Compile operations and maintenance manuals with key contacts and warranties.


• Support punch list inspections and determine calibration status of testing equipment.


• Collaborate with project managers and estimators on project support and future planning.

Education and Work Experience Requirements:

• Associates or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil, Mechanical Engineering or related degree preferred


• Experience in related construction field is preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Must be a self‑starter, hard‑working, inquisitive, and be organized and have good interpersonal skills.


• Read, analyze and interpret blueprints, technical procedures and safety rules.


• Write daily reports and document project activities.


• Effectively manage field data to assure activities are conforming to corporate Quality Control procedures. Ensures the effective implementation of the quality control program for assigned project task.


• Calculate figures and amounts and able to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
