Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, IS, CE, EE, telecommunications, or related field.
• 1+ year experience in IDC/Network Center maintenance and operation.
• Experience installing and configuring servers.
• Familiar with TCP/IP, switching and routing.
• Experience with LAN/SAN fiber optic cabling.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
• Mandarin Chinese is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Ensure availability and reliability of data centers to meet enterprise requirements.
• Install, configure and upgrade routers, switches and servers; map LAN/SAN fiber cabling.
• Monitor enterprise servers running Linux (Red Hat) for performance.
• Analyze system health, respond to network alerts, escalate tickets as needed.
• Assist in data center migrations including asset labeling and ITL-based change management.

• Record incident and change details; coordinate with vendors and enforce client policies.

Job description

We are hiring several professional and motivated field engineers who are team players and fast learners, and able to deliver precise and detailed work in 7x24 basis.

Job Location: Los Angeles, CA

Responsibilities

• Responsible for ensuring availability and reliability of multiple data centers to meet the requirements of enterprise operation.
• Install, configure and upgrade routers, switches, servers as well as map out, run and connect all LAN and SAN fiber optic network cabling.
• Perform ongoing calibration, monitoring, and troubleshooting of enterprise servers running on Red-Hat Linux to ensure proper performance levels are sustained.
• Analyze and monitor system health, responded appropriately to network alerts and events, use the standard ticket-handling procedures to escalate a ticket upstream when appropriate.
• Assist in the data center migration between different sites by racking, labeling both physically and logically on asset management application, using an ITL-based configuration and change management process
• Support data center capacity planning and construction by conducting power/cooling audits on data halls to validate available capacity for rack infills
• Record and maintain accurate incident and change records to safeguard the quality of operations along with escorting vendors and ensuring client policies are followed

Requirements

• Experienced in server installation and network configuration
• Familiar with TCP/IP, switching, routing, and optical communication technology
• 1+ year work experience in maintenance & operation at an IDC or Network Center
• Trouble-shooting and problem solving abilities.
• Must have at least a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field
• Speaking Chinese Mandarin is a plus
