Job summary

NextGen | GTA: A Kelly Telecom Company seeks an experienced Data Center Field Engineer to support enterprise and hyperscale data center deployments. This hands-on role requires fiber testing, Fluke equipment proficiency, rack-and-stack, structured cabling, and strong data center infrastructure expertise.

You will troubleshoot, validate airflow and cooling, deploy OS images, and document deployment details while guiding junior technicians and maintaining safety compliance across the data center

Qualifications

• 2+ years hands-on data center experience in enterprise, hyperscale, or colocation environments.
• Fiber testing and fiber cable troubleshooting – REQUIRED.
• Experience with rack & stack, structured cabling, fiber and copper infrastructure.
• Strong understanding of servers, storage, networking, racks, and data center infrastructure.
• Working knowledge of power distribution, redundancy, airflow, and cooling systems.
• Exposure to liquid cooling/direct-to-chip cooling is preferred.
• Experience with OS deployment, imaging, firmware management, or infrastructure validation.
• Ability to read technical drawings, rack elevations, schematics, and MOPs.
• Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills.
• Good communication and documentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and provide technical guidance to junior technicians.

Responsibilities

• Support data center infrastructure deployments, installations, validations, and troubleshooting.

• Interpret rack elevations, technical drawings, MOPs, and deployment documentation.

• Support validation of airflow, thermal management, and liquid cooling infrastructure.
• Perform OS deployment, imaging, firmware updates, and infrastructure validation as required.
• Maintain accurate deployment documentation and report technical issues or risks.
• Provide technical guidance to junior data center technicians and serve as an escalation point for deployment issues.
• Follow data center safety, operational, and compliance standards.
