Job summary

Spicer Group is seeking an experienced Field Engineer to support construction administration and inspection services on a variety of infrastructure projects in Michigan. This on-site role observes work in progress, verifies conformance with plans and specifications, and communicates field conditions to the Project Manager.

You will prepare sketches, maintain daily inspection reports, and coordinate with clients and contractors as a liaison while upholding safety and company standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to obtain region-specific certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Observes on-site work to ensure conformance with specifications.
  • Examines workmanship of installations to standards.
  • Interprets specifications related to materials and workmanship.
  • Prepares sketches of installations and incorporates changes into master plans.
  • Maintains daily inspection reports and communicates field conditions to the Project Manager.
  • Acts as liaison between client, contractor, and project management; may oversee technicians.

FIELD ENGINEERCONSTRUCTION SERVICE LINEPOSITION SUMMARYSpicer Group is seeking an experienced construction Field Engineer to support construction administration and inspection services on a variety of public and private infrastructure projects. This position serves as a key on-site representative, observing work in progress to verify conformance with plans and specifications; interpreting requirements related to materials and workmanship; documenting daily inspection activities; and communicating field conditions, issues, and progress to the Project Manager and Construction Manager.The Field Engineer works independently on projects with complex features, collaborates in project meetings, coordinates with clients and contractors as a liaison, and prepares sketches and record information to incorporate field changes into master plans while maintaining a strong commitment to safety, quality, and company standards.THE COMPANYSpicer Group is a multi-disciplinary engineering, surveying, and planning company.
