Responsibilities
  • Mentors and leads inspections and orientations, identifies hazards and corrections, and leads by example for health and safety practices and procedures.
  • Coordinates with superintendent on workforce planning.
  • Maintains project document control and procedures. Supports project engineers and/or superintendents to lead trade contractors, including requests for information (RFIs), shop drawings, changes, and billings.
  • Participates in the supervision of self‑perform scopes, including resolving crew sizes, labor tracking, and quantity tracking for Labor Cost Reports (LCRs).
  • Mentors and coaches field engineers and students/interns.
  • Identifies issues on‑site or in defined work scopes.
  • Coordinates third‑party inspections and site reviews.
  • Participates in crafting, implementing, and supervising a quality plan and Inspection and Test Plan (ITP).
  • Develops and maintains positive relationships focusing on all partners.
Qualifications
  • Associates or bachelor’s degree in a related field: construction management, engineering, architecture preferred, or equivalent experience.
  • 0–12 months of varied experience as a field engineer or coordinator preferred; time acquired during internships in the field may count as experience.
  • Knowledge of construction specifications, methods and procedures (e.g., formwork methodologies, self‑perform work, subcontracted work scopes, temporary work, equipment, and scheduling techniques).
  • Understands and applies construction principles to problem‑solve.
  • Effective verbal and written communication with supervisors, subcontractors, and reports.
  • Proven track record of working in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Writes clear technical communication to trade contractors, designers and inspectors.
  • Develops and maintains effective partner relationships.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and construction‑related software.
