Job summary

HireTalent is seeking a Field Engineer II to support large-scale combustion turbine projects in the energy sector. This role is heavily field-based and focuses on engineering coordination, RFI management, and construction/startup support during project execution.

You will work on major power generation projects from construction through commissioning, partnering with EPC contractors and OEMs. The position requires hands-on field experience, effective document control, and strong collaboration

Qualifications

  • Experience in power generation, energy, or heavy industrial construction.
  • Hands-on experience with RFI processes and EPC project workflows.
  • Reviewing engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Experience working in field or construction environments.
  • Proficiency with SharePoint or document control systems.
  • Strong understanding of document transmittal workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a field-based engineering resource supporting construction and startup activities.
  • Manage and track RFI processes, including transmittals and submittals with EPC contractors.
  • Review engineering drawings, specifications, and project documentation.
  • Coordinate with EPC contractors (e.g., Kiewit) and internal project teams to resolve technical issues.
  • Support open engineering task tracking and ensure timely resolution.
  • Assist with commissioning and startup activities.
  • Collaborate with Construction Managers and field teams.
  • Engineering teams and external stakeholders.
  • Interface with equipment manufacturers (e.g., Siemens combustion turbines) as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with project processes, safety standards, and documentation procedures.

We are seeking a Field Engineer II to support large-scale single-cycle combustion turbine projects within the energy sector. This role will be heavily field-based and focused on engineering coordination, RFI management, and construction/startup support during project execution.

This is an exciting opportunity to work on major power generation projects from construction through commissioning, partnering with EPC contractors and industry-leading OEMs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as a field-based engineering resource supporting construction and startup activities
  • Manage and track RFI (Request for Information) processes, including transmittals and submittals with EPC contractors
  • Review engineering drawings, specifications, and project documentation
  • Coordinate with EPC contractors (e.g., Kiewit) and internal project teams to resolve technical issues
  • Support open engineering task tracking and ensure timely resolution
  • Assist with commissioning and startup activities
  • Collaborate with:
  • Construction Managers and field teams
  • Engineering teams and external stakeholders

  • InEight (InEight) or similar project management platforms (e.g., Procore, Aconex)
  • Experience with large utilities or engineering firms such as:
  • Black & Veatch
  • Sargent & Lundy
  • Professional Engineer (PE) certification (preferred, not required)
