Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a senior construction manager/field engineer to lead mechanical piping and equipment installation for gas-fired power generation projects at combined cycle facilities.

You will collaborate with home office engineers, vendors, OEM representatives, subcontractors, and client teams to interpret drawings and specs, oversee subcontractor compliance, and produce daily field reports while maintaining project records.

Qualifications

• 2 to 6 years of construction management, field engineering, or design experience on power generation projects.
• Ability to interpret mechanical drawings, specifications and construction documents.
• Experience working with field teams, subcontractors, vendors, and client representatives.
• ABET-accredited engineering degree or equivalent, plus 6+ years in similar facilities construction.
• PE or degree + 4 years design experience and 6+ years construction experience.

Responsibilities

• Support mechanical piping and equipment installation activities for gas-fired power generation projects at combined cycle facilities.
• Work closely with home office engineering, vendor technical advisors, OEM representatives, subcontractors, and client teams.
• Ensure equipment deliveries, technical support, and field activities aligned with specifications and drawings.
• Provide technical guidance by interpreting design drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
• Monitor subcontractors for compliance with technical requirements.
• Support timely resolution of field questions to reduce delays and keep construction progressing.
• Coordinate with the Field Subcontract Manager.
• Prepare daily site reports.
• Complete quantity take-offs to support planning and invoice review.
• Maintain conformed-to-construction drawing markups and project records.
• Respond to Contractor Information Requests and Requests for Information.

Requirements

• 2 to 6 years of construction management, field engineering, or design experience on power generation, simple cycle, combined cycle, or similar facility construction projects
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Ability to interpret mechanical engineering drawings, specifications, and related construction documents
• Ability to work effectively with field teams, subcontractors, vendors, and client representatives in a fast-paced construction environment
• 6+ years construction management experience in similar facility construction
• PE required or degree + 4 years design experience and 6+ years construction experience
• Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering from either an ABET accredited program
