Job summary

East Bay Community Action Program is seeking a Weatherization Energy Auditor to perform field-based energy assessments across Rhode Island. You will evaluate homes for energy efficiency, safety, and compliance with program requirements, guiding projects from assessment to documentation.

The role emphasizes independent fieldwork, strong reporting, and resident education on energy-saving practices, with opportunities to connect clients to additional EBCAP programs and resources.

Qualifications

• Energy auditing and building performance knowledge.
• Ability to obtain BPI Building Analyst certification within six months.
• Ability to obtain Lead Renovator Certification (RRP) within six months.
• OSHA 10 certification prior to independent energy audits.
• Valid Rhode Island driver's license with a good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed residential energy audits with diagnostic tools.
• Evaluate insulation, heating/cooling, air leakage, and overall building performance.
• Perform safety inspections including combustion safety testing and CO assessment.
• Identify health and safety concerns and recommend corrective actions.
• Prepare audit reports, work orders, and client records.
• Enter and maintain data in program management systems.
