Job summary

Guthrie is seeking an EMT to provide basic level patient care and transportation outside the hospital, under emergency and non-emergency conditions. The role spans pre-hospital settings and hospital capacities, serving patients of all ages and backgrounds.

Requirements include EMT certification per PA/NY DOH, EVOC with EMSVO endorsement within 6 months, and a high school diploma. CPR certification and a valid driver’s license are also required.

Qualifications

• EMT certification required per PA/NY DOH.
• EVOC certification with EMSVO endorsement within 6 months of hire (PA locations).
• High school diploma or equivalent; military experience acceptable in lieu of diploma.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic life support according to PA/NY DOH BLS protocols.
• Administer medications and perform BLS procedures as directed.
• Operate emergency vehicle safely, including emergency driving.
• Supervise students during training and assist ambulance personnel on scene.
• Provide triage and disaster response support as needed.
• Contribute to quality improvement and ongoing training.
