Job summary

Guthrie in Towanda, PA seeks an EMT-P paramedic to provide patient care and transportation outside the hospital. The role spans pre-hospital and hospital settings, caring for patients of all ages with a range of emergencies—from chest pain to trauma—while engaging with bystanders and team members.

Responsibilities include following PA DOH life support protocols, supervising students, safely operating emergency vehicles, leading on scenes, triage during disasters, and contributing to quality

Qualifications

• Paramedic Certification with PA DOH is required.
• High School Diploma or equivalent; military experience may substitute.
• Maintain EMT-P certification; ACLS/PALS recommended; CPR and EVOC; EMSVO endorsement on Paramedic certification.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic and advanced life support per PA DOH protocols.
• Handle medical emergencies and trauma in BLS/ALS scope.
• Supervise students on patient care during training.
• Operate emergency vehicle safely and drive under emergency conditions.
• Provide direction to ambulance personnel and act as triage officer in disasters.
• Perform Quality Improvement duties as assigned.
• Administer medications and procedures per Medical Command orders.
• Stay informed on fire, safety, and disaster programs; attend in-service trainings.
