Job summary

Caterpillar is seeking a Field Electrical Technician (eTech) to support the development and deployment of electrical systems at customer sites. This role requires extensive travel, 50% or more, to diagnose issues, commission solutions, and drive field improvements in collaboration with customers, service teams, and product development.

You'll apply electrical expertise, troubleshoot complex problems, and deliver on-site guidance while partnering to translate field feedback into durable product

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary technical resource for customers and dealers, providing electrical systems expertise, troubleshooting support, and on-site guidance to resolve complex product and performance issues.
• Partner with customers, service teams, manufacturing, and product development to translate field feedback into product improvements that enhance quality, reliability, and customer satisfaction.
• Investigate product quality and reliability concerns, perform root cause analysis, and drive corrective actions to prevent recurrence and improve overall product performance.Evaluate manufacturing and design processes, identify opportunities for improvement, and provide engineering recommendations that optimize product quality, serviceability, and production efficiency.
• Communicate technical specifications, product updates, and service recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders while tracking and managing product issue resolution.
• Travel extensively (up to 50% or more, including domestic and international travel) to support customers, conduct field investigations, deliver training, and develop deep subject matter expertise in electrical systems and product applications
