Job summary

Qualifications

• Must reside in South-Central Ohio (Fayette, Ross, Vinton, Highland, Jackson counties) or an adjacent county.
• Certificate of competency as electrical safety inspector as issued by Board of Building Standards; valid driver’s license.
• Agility assessment will be conducted to ensure capability to endure hazardous elements of this position.

Responsibilities

• Performs field inspections using approved architectural and/or engineer-designed drawings.
• Coordinates inspections with other inspectors and supervisor when needed during construction.
• Inspects existing buildings and structures for safety to determine if Certificates of Occupancy may be issued.
• Prepares detailed reports (written or electronic) on inspections performed for submission to the bureau office.
• Itemizes violations to the electrical and building codes.
