Job summary

Miami County seeks a Building Inspector to perform on-site inspections of residential and commercial buildings to ensure compliance with the Ohio Building Code and safety standards.

You will review plans, communicate with contractors, homeowners, and architects, and prepare inspection reports. A valid Ohio driver’s license and appropriate certifications are required. Hours are Mon-Fri 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, pay $31.00–$34.00 per hour, DOQ.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Meets the Ohio Building Code (OBC) experience requirements for Building Inspector certification or trainee.
• Meets the OBC experience requirements for Electrical Safety Inspector certification or trainee.

Responsibilities

• Perform on-site inspections of residential and commercial/industrial buildings.
• Review building plans for code compliance and communicate with contractors/homeowners/architects.
• Prepare and submit inspection reports; ensure safety standards are met.
