Job summary

SMS Shipbreaking, LLC in Brownsville, TX seeks an experienced Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager to lead safety, regulatory compliance, and risk management at the site. Under the Senior EHS Manager, you will drive programs, audits, training, and incident investigations to elevate EHS performance.

You will spend substantial time in the field, mentor staff, and coordinate with operations while ensuring OSHA, EPA, and USCG requirements are met. U.S. citizenship preferred.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of EHS experience in industrial, construction, or similar environments.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and EPA programs.
• Experience in incident investigation and root cause analysis.
• Bilingual English/Spanish required.

Responsibilities

• Lead site EHS performance improvements and promote a strong safety culture.
• Serve as site EHS subject matter expert and advisor to leadership.
• Spend ~60% of time in the field observing, coaching, and mentoring employees.
• Supervise Safety Coordinator/Techs and coordinate regulatory reporting.
• Develop and maintain training matrices and site-wide EHS programs.
