Job summary

AFL is seeking an experienced EHS Manager for Broadband Operations to lead environmental, health, safety, and security across field activities. The role ensures safe, efficient project execution, coaching field teams and contractors, and maintaining regulatory compliance in dynamic telecom environments.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
  • 7+ years of EHSS experience in construction, utilities, telecommunications, or field operations.
  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA regulations and telecommunications safety requirements.
  • Able to travel up to 50% and support off-hours, emergencies, or restoration activities as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Lead hazard identification, risk mitigation, and control verification.
  • Maintain a strong field presence to coach leaders, supervisors, and field technicians.
  • Partner with operational leaders to integrate EHSS controls into project planning, execution, quality, and customer commitments.
  • Investigate incidents, perform root cause analysis, and ensure corrective actions are effective.
  • Coordinate contractor safety oversight, onboarding, and compliance with AFL standards.
  • Promote continuous improvement and a proactive safety culture across Broadband Operations.
