The EHS Project Support Specialist II is a mid-level field safety role responsible for executing and reinforcing EHS programs through strong field presence, hazard identification, and incident support.
This role focuses on daily strategic safety execution, compliance reinforcement, and coaching of crews while supporting investigations and corrective actions.
Maintain strong field presence and monitor work for compliance with safety standards.
Lead and/or facilitate on-site safety oversight and perform routine daily inspections to identify hazards, reduce risk, and enforce compliance.
Lead and/or the creation, implementation, and execution of the JHAs, PTPs, and Toolbox Talks.
Provide guidance, coaching, and ongoing support to develop and mentor all team members through the fostering of EHS skill development, technical competency, and professional growth.
Lead EHS incident investigations (actual or near miss) using structured Root Cause Analysis (RCA) methodologies to identify the underlying root/causal factors and partner with operations in developing effective corrective and preventive actions.
Take program ownership for the operational EHS aspects by continuously improving the EHS processes and programs.
Compliance & Strategic Influence
Drive compliance and strategic influence in EHS initiatives aligning with regulatory requirements, company core competencies, and policies.
Influence operational leadership and field teams to adopt best practices and proactive safety behaviors.
Develop, implement, and deliver EHS training for employees and contractors, which aligns with regulatory, company and industry standards.
Provide both written and oral daily reports to leadership and communicate hazards in real time.
2–5 years of EHS or construction safety experience.
Experience supporting incident investigations.
Effective communication and field leadership skills.
Working knowledge of OSHA standards and construction safety practices.
