Job summary

Integrated Power Services (IPS) seeks a Field Service Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain electrical drive systems in customer locations across North America. You will troubleshoot VFDs, DC drives, and related control equipment while delivering proactive service and technical guidance to operators.

Travel is a core part of the role, and you will collaborate with engineers, operations, and customers to improve system reliability.

Qualifications

• Technical degree in Electrical/Electro‑Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Hands‑on experience with VFDs, DC drives, or industrial motor controls.
• Strong understanding of power electronics, motors, PLC interfaces, and industrial networks.
• Ability to interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
• Proficiency with diagnostic tools (multimeters, scopes, megohm meters, data loggers).

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and resolve issues with AC and DC drives, motor control systems, and power electronics.
• Install, configure, and commission VFDs, DC drives, soft starters, and related components.
• Perform drive parameter adjustments, firmware updates, and system tuning.
• Provide technical guidance to customers, operators, and maintenance teams.
• Ensure compliance with NFPA-70E, OSHA, NEMA, IEC and safety standards.
