Job summary

Planned Parenthood of Minnesota Political Action Fund is seeking a Field Director to recruit, train, and manage a team of local canvassers promoting reproductive rights. Located in Minneapolis, MN, you will lead by example, canvass regularly, and communicate goals to staff while overseeing campaign reporting.

The role emphasizes building an office to scale, managing Deputy Directors, and aligning with project leadership. Strong leadership and equity focus preferred.

Qualifications

• Leadership experience managing a large team.
• Ability to work long hours including evenings and weekends.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Commitment to equity and civic engagement.
• Experience in community organizing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage a team of 15–20 hourly staff who canvass door to door to talk to voters about defending reproductive rights.
• Canvass yourself several days a week to train staff and drive office goals.
• Set goals and hold staff accountable to them.
• Train and provide ongoing motivation and support to staff.
• Identify, promote, and train a leadership team.
• Build a diverse team where staff feel respected while fostering a culture of equity and justice.
• Implement quality control measures to ensure the integrity of the work.
• Maintain a healthy and safe working environment for all staff.
• Develop strategic plans to reach targeted voters in assigned locations.
• Manage administrative duties, including reporting data, record keeping, processing payroll, and distribution of materials.
