Job summary

Chronicle Heritage seeks Associate Archaeologists to serve as Field Directors on projects across Nevada, Utah, and Idaho. You will oversee field crews, train staff, and produce technical writing for field activities while ensuring safety and fieldwork procedures are followed.

Travel and overnight stays are expected as projects require. Ideal candidates have 2+ years directing CRM fieldwork, strong data analysis skills, and proficiency with GIS and Trimble GPS tools, with ARPA/BLM permitting

Qualifications

• 2+ years directing fieldwork for CRM projects.
• 2+ years analyzing data and writing technical reports.
• Permitted Field Director/Crew Chief on BLM permits in NV; provide permit number if available.
• Proficiency in archaeological field methods and data collection.
• Must meet ARPA permit requirements for NV/UT/ID and be able to camp remotely.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and lead archaeological crews on surveys, testing, and monitoring.
• Provide training to new field and lab staff.
• Complete technical writing for pre/post-field activities.
• Direct data collection, analysis, and interpretation; propose solutions.
• Collaborate with principals and project managers to implement instructions.
• Travel and stay overnight for short- and long-term projects.
