Job summary

United Rentals, the world’s largest equipment rental provider, is looking for a Field Diesel Mechanic in Hermiston, OR. You’ll perform safe maintenance and repairs on diesel engines and hydraulic systems across a variety of complex rental equipment, and travel to customer sites to service equipment.

We emphasize safety, teamwork, and customer service. A high school diploma, valid driver’s license, and 1–2 years of repair experience or trade school graduation are a strong fit for this role.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record.
• 1-2 years repairing/maintaining vehicles and equipment or trade school graduate.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge of various engines.
• Own tools applicable to position.
• Excellent customer service, teamwork and communication skills.
• Ability to lift up to 45 lbs frequently.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repairs on complex rental equipment safely.
• Travel to customer sites for service; maintain service vehicle.
• Assist in training lower level technicians.
• Document work orders and paperwork daily.
• Assist with pickup/delivery of equipment and parts.
