Job summary

Warren CAT in Amarillo, TX seeks an Electrical Power Generation Field Technician I to provide high-quality repair service on equipment and respond to customer needs in a positive, timely manner on job sites. You will follow CSA processes and Caterpillar guidelines, generate service reports and required oil samples, and ensure safety standards are met, with travel up to 30% as needed.

The role requires a GED or higher, and an AA in Applied Diesel Technology is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; 3–5 years related experience.
• AA in Applied Diesel Technology preferred.
• Clean driving record; CDL license required within 90 days.
• Complete Work steps assessment.
• Forklift and/or man lift certification required before operation.
• Arc flash training certification completed.
• EPG Level I training completed or demonstrated performance.
• Typically at this level for 24–48 months.
• Must work required overtime; DOT physical may be required.
• H2S, MSHA and lock-out/tag-out certifications as required.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, troubleshoot problems and recommend repairs.
• Follow CSA processes and Caterpillar guidelines.
• Follow Caterpillar engine overhead measurement guidelines within six weeks.
• Generate service reports, oil samples, and inspections; leave paperwork with customer.
• Submit service reports to dispatch within 24–48 hours after service.
• Adhere to safety and contamination procedures including MSHA in mining.
