Job summary

Warren CAT is seeking a Preventative Maintenance Field Technician to complete field and shop tasks, remove/install parts, and ensure work is finished efficiently with minimal supervision.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, knowledge of diesel/gas engines and related systems, and a clean driving record with CDL eligibility within 60 days. Travel up to 85% is expected, and safety-conscious performance is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, or 1–3 years related experience or training.
• General knowledge of diesel or gas engines and related systems.
• Clean driving record; CDL or ability to obtain CDL within 60 days; must be 21+ for field vehicle assignment.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and write routine reports.
• Familiarity with databases, internet software, manufacturing software and order processing systems.
• Ability to provide accurate quotes and pricing estimates to customers.
• May be required to complete a DOT physical.
• Complete Work Steps assessment.

Responsibilities

• Complete assigned jobs and tasks to meet flat rate times and re-do metric.
• Provide repair recommendations and perform minor service repairs in both field and shop.
• Complete related paperwork and access required databases (work order, parts order, JSA, DBS, SIMS, SIS Web, STW) to complete job timely.
• Remove and install parts, disassemble and assemble components, and test and adjust assemblies with minimal supervision.
