Job summary

United Rentals is seeking a Field Diesel Mechanic - Customer Equipment Solutions (Service Tech IV - Field Service - CES).

You will maintain and repair complex diesel systems on customer-owned equipment at various sites, often with limited supervision. Travel to customer locations is required, along with mentoring junior techs and documenting work orders. Strong customer service and safety mindset are essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• 5+ years of experience repairing/maintaining equipment and tools.
• Advanced mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tools.
• Knowledge of construction equipment and engines.
• Ability to read schematics and diagrams.
• Must own tools applicable to position.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to lift up to 45 lbs regularly.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance and repair of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems on a range of rental and customer equipment with minimal supervision.
• Travel to customer job sites for service and maintenance; keep service vehicle clean and professional.
• Assist in mentoring lower level technicians when needed.
• Document all work orders accurately and promptly.
• Upsell and demonstrate a wide range of equipment to customers.
• Assist with equipment and parts pickup/delivery as required.
