Job summary

United Rentals is seeking a Field Diesel Mechanic - Customer Equipment Solutions (Service Tech IV - Field Service - CES) to maintain and repair complex diesel systems on customer-owned equipment. This role requires independent judgment and a strong customer-service focus in a travel-heavy field setting.

You will service rental and customer equipment at various sites, coach junior techs, and keep accurate electronic work orders.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• 5+ years of experience repairing/maintaining equipment and tools.
• Advanced mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tools.
• Knowledge of construction equipment and engines.
• Advanced understanding of schematics/diagrams.
• Must own tools applicable to position.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repair of complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems on rental and customer equipment with limited supervision.
• Travel to customer job sites and maintain a clean, professional service vehicle.
• Assist in training lower level technicians as needed.
• Maintain paperwork and work orders accurately and timely.
• Upsell and demonstrate a wide array of complex equipment to customers.
• Assist with pickup and delivery of equipment and parts.
